This page has been provided to help guide you through the registration process. While we did our best to capture most of the recurring questions that are asked, we know this guide does not answer EVERY question a parent might have. We encourage you to call or stop by anytime for further assistance.
01) Is this a daycare?
Clinton Hill Community & Early Childhood Center is a leading high-quality early care and education program. Our classrooms are led by licensed teachers and paraprofessional assistants. We use a research-based curriculum and on-going assessment system to ensure our children meet or exceed the benchmark expectations for Kindergarten Readiness. Families are required to complete an Attendance Contract as part of our orientation process.
02? At what age can I enroll my child(ren)?
To enroll in our Toddler Program a child must be two years and six months old by October 1st of the enrolling year.
To enroll in our Preschool Program a child must be three years old by October 1st of the enrolling year.
To enroll in our Pre-K Program a child must be four years old by October 1st of the enrolling year.
03) What documents do I need to enroll my child?
To register your child, you need to submit a completed Enrollment Application with the following documentation:
Child Birth Certificate
(3) Proofs of Address (within the last 30 days). *For the Universal (Free) Preschool Program, you must be a Newark resident.
Immunization (Shot) Record.
Proof of Income.

04) What is the Universal (Free) Preschool Program?
Clinton Hill Community & Early Childhood Center, Inc. is contracted by the Newark Public Schools to provide FREE state-mandated preschool education services. Children must be three or four years old by October 1st of the enrolling school year to qualify for the Universal (Free) Preschool Program.
05) What are the school hours?
School hours vary by program type. Please see our Tuition Schedule for your respective program hours. For a schedule of our school closings please see our School Calendar.
06) Do I have to provide meals for my child?
Breakfast, lunch and snack are provided at no additional cost. If your child has special dietary needs please be sure to include that on the enrollment application. We can accommodate most dietary requests.
